Amsterdam day two: the return FINAL INSTALLMENT

19 April 2015

Hello!

What I forgot to mention in my last post was that an Italian woman stopped me on the street, speaking very little English (it was mostly hand signals) and asked if she could take a picture of me and her daughter. Obviously, I agreed and it genuinely made me smile, it was so surreal to me!! Her daughter seemed really embarrassed...

Amsterdam day two: AMSTERDAM

17 April 2015

Hello!

I know, I'm really bad at this but after this post there's only going to be one left.  I just have a busy time of college and work and it's kinda exhausting..

ANYWAY.

We woke up at about 7.30 in order to begin getting ready. I had already decided that I was going to go for something a bit more dressy rather than just my normal casual. I was my first time abroad since I was 10 (i'm 21) so it was a HUGE deal to me!

It didnt take me all that long to get ready, and it didn't take long for Caitlin either and before you knew it, we were out on the deck watching the ship dock, and I freaked out because I got to see a lighthouse.

Amsterdam day one: the crossing

08 April 2015

Hello!

So my initial plan was to upload a segment of this per day but I've been very preoccupied with life lately so... !!!

Once we boarded the ferry, we went straight to our cabins. The college had booked us all inside cabins (if you're unfamiliar with ferries and cabins then know that inside cabins are cheaper than outdoor cabins which are cheaper than suites.) and we were mostly all on the sixth floor. I was sharing a room with Caitlin.

Amsterdam day one: the coach

31 March 2015

Hello!

Its been a while since I updated this blog mostly because I've been way too busy to even begin to find the time to update here...  BUT!!! Right now as I am typing this I'm sitting on the floor of a cruise ship at sea on my way to Amsterdam!  It's a college trip and its only for a couple of days but I found a wifi spot so i decided to take this opportunity to start write typing up the journey so far.  (EDIT: at the time of publishing I am back home in Scotland).

Before I got on the train through to college I headed off to the local pharmacy to get some travel sickness pills and to the newsagents to get a couple of treats for the coach through to Newcastle to catch the ferry.
